Lonewolf Glock - Not long ago, Lone Wolf Distributors, known for their premium Glock barrels, announced their first full line of pistols called the Lightweight Tactical Defense Series or LTD. I was lucky enough to get my hands on the LTD 19 Version 1, the less radical of the two LTD designs, for testing. It was a treat.
The LTD19 is based on the design of the Glock 19. Lone Wolf has a long history of serving Glock owners with variations on the G19 theme. They wanted to solve the most common causes to improve the widely accepted design while maintaining the near legendary reliability and simplicity.

It all starts with a familiar, but not unique, Glock polymer frame. Lone Wolf, in my opinion, wisely decided to go with the grip angle that matches the G19, but the knob on the back is missing. For me, this just sums up my biggest gripe with the G19 – the distance from the back of the handle to the trigger is greater on the Compact 19 than its full-size counterpart, the G17. On the Glock 17, the grip is lower on the wrist, which shortens the palm-to-trigger distance. Lone Wolf designers have greatly improved the design and completely removed the leg in the back collar. They achieved their goal of making aiming a gun as intuitive as snapping a finger.

Also familiar to Glock users is the grainy texture of the grip. Of course, it's impossible to please everyone, and many shooters find this soft barrel too smooth. I got it right, and hey, if you like the gun otherwise, stippling or another texture is always an option.
A clipless, well-sealed magazine is featured around the opening in competition style. Here, Lone Wolf has done a great job in designing the gun for efficient performance while keeping the size down. Although the mag was stopped, a student who cleaned the mag power during a deliberate double failure and I confirmed that the LTD was designed to work. Despite its thin profile, there was no digging into the earth's crust. A G19 owner who tested the gun commented that he liked the folding magwell for easy loading, but preferred the slightly larger feature as a concealed pistol. A friend who tested the gun, with large hands, felt a little weird when the Magwell blast hit his hand between the pinky and ring fingers. However, it praises the ease of installation of the Flare provision. Another tester and I feel that the Magwell Flare improves grip while giving a "locked" feel because the bottom three fingers fit perfectly between the mag and the beavertail. This is one feature where the gun must be shot properly to understand if it is good or not.
The overall profile of the LTD is simpler than the G19 Banana. The trigger guard is cut at the back and rounded at the front. The corners of the slide and frame are reversed on all, making the profile as emotionless as possible.
Best of all, this gun accepts and feeds Gen 3, 4, and 5 magazines that we tested using 15-, 17-, and 33-round capacities. All prisoners were freed without help. This is a practical feature that I believe is essential for any sport, self defense or mission weapon. As with Gen 4 and 5 Glocks, the mag release is reversible.

Like the Gen 5 Glock, the LTD only has a slide lock on the left side. At first, the exhaust on the new LTD was a little rough. Running somewhere north of 75 turns was easier.
The LTD uses Glock sights, and can accommodate any rear sights accordingly. For all the hype some make about Glock's polymer sights, I appreciate their rust-free properties for any gun that might be exposed to sweat, even a little, but these can certainly be compared. be changed at the owner's discretion.
Speaking of sights, the LTD doesn't come in an optics-ready configuration yet. I expect to see tapered slides on the next iteration of this model, because of the aggressive grooves between the muzzle and the ejection port.
The slide is an amazing part of this gun. "I mean business," says the end of his deep ponytail and slicked-back bangs. The cutting distance on the muzzle brake is even more impressive on the LTD V2 version. A bolt on the slide helps reduce recoil and the barrel features a stainless steel insert, one of Lone Wolf Dealer's most popular products.

The trigger is comparable to a Glock Gen 5. That is, it feels 6.5-pounds lighter, with a smooth ride and long adjustment. There aren't enough shooters to say this doesn't fit well enough, but I feel it is appropriate for a gun designed for protection and for use in adverse conditions. There is a built-in safety measure, but a skilled shooter cannot make it work well and quickly.
A look at the machinery on the barrel compared to the stock Glock gives this gun a custom and well made feel. He is the leader of the company, and the LTD reflects that well.

Coach's years of experience include seeing countless people more or less fooled with Glocks. Sometimes these changes coincide with the acquisition of a human weapon. In most cases, it is the opposite. Timing problems are common with simple slides, but none occurred here. 115 and 124 grain factory ammunition, we pointed out that there is a mistake in the rifle. Lone Wolf deserves to get this right.

This is a classic weapon. My only complaint about it is that it is a bit high in combat distances. At 7 yards, the point of impact was about two inches higher for me and two other testers who fired five-shot groups. I don't think a "handle" is necessary for a weapon at close range. I hope the manufacturer will fix this by changing the displays.
Options include a gray or black frame, stainless or black nitride slide and V1 or V2 blade configuration. If you like Glocks, but want something a little more urban, the LTD V1 or V2 might be just the ticket. MSRP is $699.95.

Overall length is 7.16 inches and height including magwell is 4.77 inches. Additionally, the sight radius is 5.9 inches and the trigger is 6.5 pounds from the factory.
A generous cut on the Timberwolf frame is intended to eliminate the dreaded "Glock knuckle" and allows for a higher grip for reduced recoil, while allowing shooters with larger hands to enjoy compact handgun concealment. Plus, the low-profile magwell keeps fingers and hands at a safe distance, speeding up loading.
