Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center, formerly known as Wilford Hall Medical Center, is a United States Air Force medical center located on the grounds of Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. Operated by the 59th Medical Wing, Wilford Hall is the Department of Defense's largest facility offering comprehensive medical, intensive care and ambulatory surgery. The medical facility is named after former Air Force Surgeon General Maj. G. Wilford F. Hall, a visionary pioneer whose contribution was instrumental in the development of aviation.
