Williams Island Primitive Campsite - Want to camp in beautiful River Gorge? Well, you're in luck. The Tennessee River Gorge Trust has two free campgrounds that are part of the Tennessee River Blueway network. We welcome donations so we can continue to manage these campsites for the community. To secure your reservation for camping at our Pot Point or Williams Island Blueway campsites, please complete the form below at least one full business day in advance of planning to camp. You will be sent a confirmation email if space is available. Blue route directions to campsites are below the application. Williams Island Primitive Campsite
This will depend on the launch location, boat design, experience and paddling direction (up or down). In general, a rough estimate would be that the average paddler can take 15-30 minutes to cover a single river mile. Longer, faster kayaks will be on the faster end, while larger canoes may be on the slower end. Also, be sure to check the TVA Chickamauga Dam release schedule

No, the campsites are free, so everyone can go out and enjoy the canyon! But of course feel free to make another donation so we can continue to manage these campsites for the public
Pot Point Campsite is accessible by land (see directions on the Pot Point Camping page), but William Island is only accessible by boat.
